Students In Action
SHAPE students have completed many community service projects and contributed countless hours of time since 2002 to help those in need.
Here are just a few:
- Susan B. Anthony Recovery Center – helped wrap holiday gifts
- Tourette’s Syndrome – volunteered as ushers at fundraising event
- Hurricane Katrina Victims – organized a teddy bear drive
- Hepburn Center – volunteered with after school program and the elderly
- Salvation Army – helped organize gift baskets and distribute bicycles
- Mitchell Moore Community Center – volunteered in the after school program
- Covenant House – organized a toiletry drive
- Broward County Schools – filmed video to educate students about teen pregnancy and peer pressure
- US Army – sent numerous correspondence to the troops in Iraq
- Children’s Home Society – Organized canned food and book drive
- Children’s Diagnostic and Treatment Center – organized canned food drive
- Hope Lodge – organized a Valentine’s Day party for patients
- Migrant Farm Workers – organized a holiday party and distributed gifts to the children
- Alzheimer’s Patients - visited patients and played games
