Students In Action

SHAPE students have completed many community service projects and contributed countless hours of time since 2002 to help those in need.

 

Here are just a few:

 

  • Susan B. Anthony Recovery Center – helped wrap holiday gifts
  • Tourette’s Syndrome – volunteered as ushers at fundraising event
  • Hurricane Katrina Victims – organized a teddy bear drive
  • Hepburn Center – volunteered with after school program and the elderly
  • Salvation Army – helped organize gift baskets and distribute bicycles
  • Mitchell Moore Community Center – volunteered in the after school program
  • Covenant House – organized a toiletry drive
  • Broward County Schools – filmed video to educate students about teen pregnancy and peer pressure
  • US Army – sent numerous correspondence to the troops in Iraq
  • Children’s Home Society – Organized canned food and book drive
  • Children’s Diagnostic and Treatment Center – organized canned food drive
  • Hope Lodge – organized a Valentine’s Day party for patients
  • Migrant Farm Workers – organized a holiday party and distributed gifts to the children
  • Alzheimer’s Patients - visited patients and played games
