BankAtlantic
May 30, 2007

SHAPE, is one organization that we support because we believe we are helping to grow the philanthropists of the future. If a high school student, who might not have been able to give learns first hand how much they receive from their giving...an even more beautiful world can unfold for us all. The lessons learned from SHAPE can and will last a lifetime...so for us at BankAtlantic, our SHAPE sponsorship it is not a donation but an investment.

The reason my family is a  supporter of  SHAPE is that  we believe that our philanthropic efforts will be substantially  increased  by helping to teach young people the value and joy of doing philanthropic work for their communities through the SHAPE Program.
Robert Bernstein
Parent of SHAPE Student

Bob Berkowitz’s

“Some opportunities in life present themselves where you can help people “now” and improve the quality of their lives today- Shape gives you the opportunity to help people in the present, but more importantly, it makes sure that the “spirit of giving” is nurtured and replicated in such a way that it will self perpetuate for the years to come.  It’s all about investing in the future-while doing good today.”

Community Foundation of Broward

SHAPE, Inc. shares the same interest as the Community Foundation of Broward in that it is teaching the next generation of community leaders the power of philanthropy in the most practical way.  Students gain deeper understanding and increased awareness of the wide range needs of their schools and communities, and how they can actively, systematically and successfully address those needs.
Linda B. Carter
President and CEO
Community Foundation of Broward

JPMorgan Chase’s

"JPMorgan Chase supports SHAPE because its mission encapsulates many of our Foundation's goals.  We believe it is important to prepare leaders today to face the challenges of the future."

WHY BANK ATLANTIC SUPPORTS SHAPE STUDENTS

As a corporate foundation, we get hundreds of requests for donations, sponsorships and volunteer resources. We heard about SHAPE and learned that its mission was to help young students learn that helping others is as rewarding to the giver as it is to the one in need. We were fascinated with the concept.

The question we asked ourselves was: what if one student was changed by this experience? What if one student contemplated the benefit of giving back versus a life that might otherwise be focused on “What’s best for me?” What if all children had this opportunity to move the focus away from “me” to “we?” How might the world look then?

This was an easy choice. BankAtlantic has been a proud sponsor of SHAPE for the past 2 years and we applaud the efforts of the SHAPE students.
